Instructions to make Paneer Pataka:
- Take the Cottage Cheese and Potato and cut them in cubes.
- Gently fry them in little white oil till they are light brown and set aside.
- Heat 3 tbsps of Sunflower Oil in a pan till the bubbles disappear.
- Add Mustard Seed, Fennel Seed, Asafoetida, Fenugreek seeds and Cumin seeds in the heated oil.
- Add freshly chopped onions as the above seeds start to crackle.
- Stir and fry till onions are translucent/light golden colored.
- Add the pre-sauted cottage cheese and potato cubes and stir to mix well.
- Minimize the flame and let it cook for 1min
- In a bowl take curd, turmeric powder, chilly powder, coriander powder, black salt and add a little water (4-5 tbsps) and mix well to get a saucy consistency.
- Add the curd mixture in the pan and mix thoroughly.
- Allow to cook on medium flame for 10-12 min till the potato is boiled well.
- You can sim for another 7-8 min if gravy needs to be thicker and dry.
- Serve with freshly chopped coriander leaves as garnish.
