  2. Mix well and roast for around 5- 7 mins. Or till it turns brown.
  3. Then add chopped pumpkin and in it and roast for 2 mins. Remove from the flame and keep aside.
  4. In a pot add water and bring it to boil. When it starts boiling add jaggery.
  5. When jaggery dissolves completely add cardamom powder.
  6. Then add the roasted mixture in the jaggery water and mix well.
  7. Close the lid and let it cook on low flame for 15-20mins.
  8. Open the lid once or twice on between and stir to prevent Lapsi from sticking to the bottom.
  9. Check that pumpkin is also cooked nicely. Once done serve Lapsi hot with little milk.

Cut pumpkin or squash in half or quarters depending on the size, and scoop out the seeds and fibres inside. Place skin-side up in a roasting dish with a couple of tablespoons of water.
