  1. Take 3 tbsp shredded coconut
  2. Make ready 1 tsp mustard seeds
  3. Get 3-4 cRed chilli
  4. Make ready 0.5 tsp turmeric
  5. Make ready 1 tsp tamarind
  6. Take 2 tsp jaggery
  7. Get 10 peanuts
  8. Take leaves Curry

Chitranna bajji is nothing but a orange coloured sweet, spicy and sour chutney. Mangalore, officially known as Mangaluru, is the chief port city of the Indian state of Karnataka. Steps to make Mangalore Chitranna:
  1. In a mixer add 3tbsp coconut + 0.5 tbsp mustard seeds + red Chilli + pinch turmeric + salt + tamarind + 2 tsp jaggery. Grind it with less water.
  2. Now in a pan take 4 tsp oil. Start preparing the tempering. Add Mustard seeds+ peanuts + urrad dal+curry leaves. Once it splutters, mix it with step 1 ingredients, salt and rice.
  3. Sauté step 2 for around 5 minutes smoothly. Serve Mangalore Chitranna hot with curd/yoghurt.
