Chopped chicken is marinated in a mix of spicy Korean sauce then stir fried with rice cakes, sweet potatoes, green cabbage, and perilla leaves.

- Prepare 1/2 tbsp Black pepper

- Make ready 1 tbsp Roasted sesame oil
- Get 1 tbsp Sunflower oil
- Prepare as needed Sea weed optional

- Get 1 Lettuce leaves
- Prepare as needed Hot green chillies cut diagonally
- Take as needed Garlic chopped diagonally
- Take 1 cup Plain steam white rice
Before being grilled in a pan, the chicken pieces are marinated in a mixture of gochujang sauce and several spices including gochugaru, a Korean pepper. This is one of my favorite Korean dishes of all time, dak galbi. It is a spicy, savory chicken dish with sweet potatoes, cabbage and rice cakes. When I was in high school, my best friend and I used to go to our local dak galbi restaurant multiple times a week to get our fix.
Steps to make Dak Galbi:
- For sauce - deseed Kashmiri red chillies and soak in hot water for 20 minutes.
- Add soaked red chilles,red chilli powder,soy sauce,garlic,black pepper,salt sugar in a mixi jar and make a fine paste with the help of water.
- In a pan add roasted 1/2 tbsp sesame oil and 1/2 tbsp sunflower oil.
- Add finely grinded paste into pan,cook for 10 minutes on medium flame.Sauce is ready.
- For Dak Galbi chicken marinate chicken with 2 Tbsp sauce for 20 minutes.
- After 20 minutes,In a big flat heavy bottom pan add 1/2 Tbsp roasted sesame oil and 1/2 sunflower oil.
- Add sweet potato, carrots,cabbage,leak.
- Saute for few seconds then add marinated chicken and 2 Tbsp sauce.
- Check and if needed add salt.
- After chicken cooked sprinkle roasted sesame seeds.
- For serving first take lettuce leaf take 1 tbsp steam rice on that,then place Dak Galbi chicken,then hot green chillies and chopped garlic fold it and have it in a one time😊
