The ingredients needed to make Flapjacks:
  1. Prepare 4 oz margarine or butter
  2. Get 4 tbsp golden syrup
  3. Get 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  4. Prepare 8 oz porridge oats
  5. Make ready 1 oz dried fruit (optional)
Instructions to make Flapjacks:
  1. Prehest oven to gas mark 5. Grease a 7"× 11" baking pan.
  2. Put oats into a large bowl and fruit if adding.
  3. TOP TIP warm your tablespoon in hot water the syrup will slide off the spoon easy.
  4. In a pan put margarine, syrup and sugar and warm ovet a low heat till margarine and syrup have melted and sugar dissolved.
  5. Pour this mixture onto the oats and mix well till all tje oats are covered.
  6. Tip oat mixture into the bsking psn and level out and press down.
  7. Put in the oven for approx 30 - 35 mins till light golden brown.
  8. Take out and allow to cool slightly. Then with a knife cut the flapjack into pieces. Leave to cool till it starts to firm up then take them out and put onto a cooling rack.
  9. Once cold store in an airtight container. They will last for about 5 days if they dont get eaten first ☺
